   The Sun Temple of Modhera is dedicated to Hindu God Surya. The Sun Temple was built by King Bhimdev of Solanki Dynasty in 1026. This temple is known as 11th century sun temple. Solankis were known as suryavanshi , Gurjar and thus  they built Sun Temple at the village Modhera.
